Start at Vingis Park's dog area — at roughly 1,260 m² and split into separate zones for dogs under and over 10 kg, it's the largest fenced off-leash area in the city and the best place to let a dog properly burn off energy before a day of walking on-leash elsewhere. Go early on a Saturday if your dog is nervous around crowds — it's a popular meeting spot for Vilnius dog owners.
Head into the Old Town for coffee. 12 Istorijų, just by the Philharmonic, and Rotonda, at the foot of Gediminas Castle, are both listed on Lithuania's pet-friendly venue registry and welcome dogs indoors — useful to know if the weather turns. Both are an easy walk from each other, so it's worth picking whichever has a free table when you arrive.
For a proper Sunday walk rather than a park loop, Pavilniai Regional Park is Lithuania's smallest regional park but has genuinely good walking — 21 km of trails across five routes along the Vilnia river valley, wide and easy underfoot, open year-round. Dogs must stay leashed and you're expected to pick up after them, per the park directorate's own rules, but it's a real change of scenery from city pavement.
Vilnius doesn't have an official, purpose-built dog beach, but the informal riverside stretch on the Neris inside Vingis Park — sometimes called Vilnius's dog beach — gets used for exactly that in the warmer months. There's no official signage or lifeguard, so keep your dog under close control and bring your own bags; it's an informal spot, not a managed facility.
